Payload verification

Mission-Specific Ammunition

Special ammunition objectives are tests of information discipline. The required payload can be separated from the target coordinate by several messages and several machine stations, making it easy to build a perfect firing solution for the wrong shell.

Carry the requirement from its source

Write the exact payload beside the report or objective that requires it. Do not rely on remembering the wording after moving to the map or armory. If a later message changes the target or effect, cross out the earlier requirement and preserve the correction sequence.

Confirm availability before the final solution

A target can be plotted and measured correctly while the required ammunition is unavailable. Check inventory and requisition early enough to choose a viable plan. Do not substitute a visually similar or more destructive shell unless the current game explicitly treats it as satisfying the same objective.

  1. Copy exact shell name.
  2. Confirm current inventory or requisition access.
  3. Assign it to a target and barrel.
  4. Build the matching trajectory.
  5. Read the shell label again during loading.

Keep payload separate from propellant

The shell decides the effect; powder charges and elevation decide the trajectory. A correct charge count does not validate the payload, and the correct payload does not validate the calculator transfer. Verify both lines independently before marking the firing card ready.

Use objective feedback to classify failure

If the impact location is wrong, audit geometry and ballistics. If the impact is correct but the mission does not advance, audit target identity, ammunition name, required placement, and later instructions. This classification prevents an operator from damaging a correct firing solution while the actual problem remains in payload or objective interpretation.
