Spotter Position
Spotter reports are useful only when their origin and subject remain clear. Mark the known reference points first, then derive the unknown position from the reported directions.

Read the report literally
Identify who is observing, what is being observed, and which bearing or direction is stated. A report about enemy artillery is not automatically the location of the observer.
Locate the observer
When the mission provides observations from multiple known references, plot each line and use the intersection. Keep the observer mark distinct from the target mark.
- Label every known reference point.
- Plot one reported direction at a time.
- Mark the intersection.
- Validate it against later messages before committing scarce ammunition.
Community caution
Community reports sometimes use shorthand that depends on a specific mission. Treat unverified shortcuts as community experience, not universal rules.
