This update addresses Desktop cursor visible on the main menu; Colour Blind modes not applying; Reduced ghosting effects on the clock

Field Guide reading

What this dispatch changes

Patch notes are most useful when they are translated into a checkable operator response. Save, mission-entry, input, and control fixes affect whether a firing workflow can be completed at all; visual or localization fixes affect how confidently the same workflow can be read and transferred.

Key changes in the official notes

  • Desktop cursor visible on the main menu
  • Colour Blind modes not applying
  • Reduced ghosting effects on the clock

Operator actions

  1. Confirm Steam has installed the newest available build before reproducing an older issue.
  2. Retry the affected mission or station with the same steps, then record what still fails instead of changing several variables at once.
  3. Rebuild any firing card whose range, charge selection, control state, or mission data may have changed after the update.

Operators,

We noticed many requests for a MID-MISSION SAVE SYSTEM, and Nick is working on this feature.

Since this will be a larger-scale update and will take a little more time to implement, we decided to release a small patch in the meantime addressing three minor issues.

Roadmap, Reports & Resources

Remember, the first and most important place to stay connected with us has always been, and always will be, our Discord. That’s where Nick runs the game’s open development on a daily basis, discuss what’s happening behind the scenes, and stay in touch with Operators directly.

We also recommend checking our regularly updated FAQ thread on the Steam Community Hub, where you’ll find answers to the most frequently asked questions.

And if you’d like to share a suggestion, report a bug, or flag something that should be improved in the localisation, please head over to our dedicated Bug & Feedback Hub, also here on Steam.

As for what comes next, Nick is currently focused on the mentioned MID-MISSION SAVE SYSTEM that so many of you have requested. Then, starting August 24, gamescom begins. And both of us will be heading to Cologne.

We highly recommend keeping an eye on our socials, because we’re planning to organize a small meet-up with you somewhere on site. And once we’re back, of course, we’ll continue improving IRON NEST and move forward with the additional Skirmish Modes, as outlined in the roadmap.

Once Again: Thank You

High Command’s Propaganda Division is running out of ways to communicate this, Operators. Your reviews, feedback, and support continue to go far beyond anything we ever expected.

We know some of you may wonder why we keep repeating this in almost every announcement, but we simply don’t know how not to. Nearly 10,000 reviews, with 98% of them positive, is something we never imagined we would see. Thank you for making this possible.

Every time we think the front has reached its limit, you push it even further.

GLORY TO THE OPERATORS!

Nick & Dominik
