Field Guide reading
What this dispatch changes
Patch notes are most useful when they are translated into a checkable operator response. Save, mission-entry, input, and control fixes affect whether a firing workflow can be completed at all; visual or localization fixes affect how confidently the same workflow can be read and transferred.
Key changes in the official notes
- Loading from a save prevents the player from going to sleep
- Gun jammed if saving/loading mid-reload
- Reduced log file size
- GEFORCE NOW SUPPORT
Operator actions
- Confirm Steam has installed the newest available build before reproducing an older issue.
- Retry the affected mission or station with the same steps, then record what still fails instead of changing several variables at once.
- Rebuild any firing card whose range, charge selection, control state, or mission data may have changed after the update.

Gamescom 2026 Meetup
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the official IRON NEST meetup at Gamescom 2026. Seeing so many of the Operators who helped turn our dream into reality was an incredible experience for us.

We hope you wear the uniforms you received with pride. It was a pleasure to share a few stories from the front and meet so many of you in person. Our only regret is how quickly the time together passed. We sincerely hope this was only the first of many meetings to come.
New Mission & Community Items
As outlined in our roadmap, Nick is currently putting the finishing touches on our first additional free Skirmish Mode mission. Development is entering its final stage, and if everything goes according to plan, we’re aiming for deployment around the end of September / beginning of October, with October 1st as our current target. As always, High Command will only authorize deployment once it’s battle-ready.

That’s not all. We’ve also recently gained the ability to bring Steam Trading Cards and additional Community Items to IRON NEST, including animated avatars, profile backgrounds, stickers, and more. We’re currently preparing a full set of these assets, so expect another supply drop in the near future.
Steam Reviews & Metacritic
One month after launch, more than 13,000 Steam reviews with 97% of them positive is still something we can hardly believe. But reaching 90 Metacritic score has genuinely left High Command speechless. Thank you not only for playing the game, but also for taking the time to share your thoughts and rate our work.

Every review, report, and piece of feedback helps shape the future of IRON NEST. Castile stands proud knowing such sons and daughters serve beneath its banner.
1st Month of Service
The first month of service is behind us, but the offensive is only gathering momentum. As outlined in our roadmap, there is still plenty ahead, with the first additional free Skirmish Mode already approaching.
If you want to stay as close as possible to the development process, join us on Discord, where High Command shares updates, gathers reports, and stays in direct contact with the Operators.
The front stands strong, work continues, and there are still many battles ahead.
High Command could not be prouder of you.
GLORY TO CASTILE!
Nick & Dominik
